Official Pinterest app for Android

Hey all Pinners out there, the long-awaited Official Pinterest app for Android hit the Google play store and is available for free. The app is available for both Android smartphones and tablets.

What is Pinterest?

Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their tour, decorate their homes, all latest fashion update and organize their favorite recipes. In Pinterest you share photos with your followers according to your style.

At first look you’ll love the Interface of the app, the app UI is beautiful, fast and developers followed the ICS design guidelines very well. When you start the app, you’ve to login before browsing your timeline. If you’re new users then you can signup from the app.

After the successful login, you can able to browse the timeline pins in beautiful interface just like desktop web site. To Create new pin, type on ‘Create Pin’ button and either from the gallery or capture directly from the camera. Once you’ve selected the photos, you can able to enter a title, choose category and then hit ‘Pin it”’ button. You can also share the pin with you Facebook and Twitter followers.

The App lets you share photos directly from your camera or gallery, re-pin follower pin, like or comment to any pins or let them save to your device. You can access your profile, app settings, find Facebook friends and other options from the Profile activity.

  1. I know that the Android app’s description says that you can “Pin what you love from around the web,” but how does one do that?? I can only see the way, as you described, to add photos from your phone.

    • You can do share the webpage using Intent.
      For e.g open any page in firefox for Android, hit menu button and then ‘Share’ button and you’ll see ‘Create Pin’ option in the Intent service list.
