Connect Google Authenticator with LastPass to make your Account Uncrackable
TweetThe favorite password manager, LastPass had introduced the inclusion of Google Authenticator as a new multifactor authentication for LastPass. Two-factor authentication is form of security in which user have to supply second form of confirmation before being able to log in to an account. The first factor in the 2-way authentication is your password which you have to supply when you trying to login and the second factor is random number that can be generated using Google Authenticator app.
This two-way authentication is an excellent way to protect your sensitive data from hackers. You’ve to linked LastPass and Google Authenticator app to activate the 2-way authentication on your LastPass account.
Instruction to Activate 2-way Authentication:
- First, Install Google Authenticator on your phone. Check instruction here
- LastPass user need to visit this link. You’ve to supply username and password to visit that link.
- You’ll reached to Google Authenticator page, Now open your Google Authenticator app and scan the QR code that is visible on your screen.

- You’re successfully connected your LastPass account with Google Authenticator. Now you can see the that random code generated on your Google Authenticator.
- Next time you login to LastPass on an untrusted device, you’ll receive the Google Authentication dialog

- Go to your Google Authenticator App, and input the current authentication code you see in the app, into this dialog. If the code expires before you have a chance to authenticate, simply use the next code that appears in the app.
Every time when enter LastPass account it will ask you for verification code, you can also choose the option that says that you trust the computer, after that LastPass won’t ask for verification code in future.
