It’s good news from Google to all coder that Google Code Jam 2010 registration is opened! Google just announced the Key dates of Google Code Jam 2010. This time Code Jam finals will be held in Google’s Dublin Office.

What is Google Code jam ?

Google Code Jam is a programming competition in which professional and student programmers are asked to solve complex algorithmic challenges in a limited amount of time. The contest is all-inclusive: Google Code Jam lets you compete in the programming language and development environment of your choice.

The qualification round starts on May 7th, 2010 and after four rounds of online competition, the top 25 competitors will be flown to Google’s Dublin Office. And the winner will get $5000 and the title of Code Jam Champion!

Google has acquired online photo editing site Picnik, Picnik is reporting on its blog that it has been acquired by Google.

About Picnik: It is a service that allows user to “make their photos fabulous” with a set of editing tools that include effects, fonts, shapes and frames.

This story is really shocked the yahoo because Picnik photo editing tools are already incorporated into Yahoo Flickr as well as Facebook. In Picasa also the Picnik is used as default photo editing tool. May be Google will use this opportunity to cut a chout out of Flickr by withdrawing Picnik from Yahoo Flickr and keeping it Picasa only.
In a blog post of Picnik the firm writes:

We’ve just been acquired by Google! What does this mean for Picnik? It means we can think BIG. Google processes petabytes of data every day, and with their worldwide infrastructure and world-class team, it is truly the best home we could have found.
Under the Google roof we’ll reach more people than ever before, impacting more lives and making more photos more awesome.

In a Blog post of Google, they confirm the news:

We’re not announcing any significant changes to Picnik today, though we’ll be working hard on integration and new features. As well, we’d like to continue supporting all existing Picnik partners so that users will continue to be able to add their photos from other photo sharing sites, make edits in the cloud and then save and share to all relevant networks.

It seen interesting that in future what Google are going to acquire.

We will not however include Buzz or manually delete the retweeted buzz until Google gives a workable solution.

Recently Google launches it new Chrome based OS. There’s a lot of speculation going on about Google OS; a lot of it is that its’ too different to work. Well I bring Some Good and Bad things about Google Chrome OS.

Why Chrome OS Will be Good

1. Free of Cost. The Linux Distros has been around for years for free and name Google that’s familiar to everyone which give you the free and affordable services.

2. Open Source. The Google Chrome OS has been an Open Source means that it can be improved by anyone anywhere.

3. Secure System. Today Almost max. virus is created for windows OS so, this virus can’t damage Linux OS.

4. No hard drive needed. In chrome OS, all your files will be stored in a secure server. If you get hit by a virus you don’t need to worry about your hard drive failing.

Why Chrome OS will be Bad

1. Always Online. You need to be on the net always, You have to do everything online and not offline. This is by far the biggest concern I have with Chrome

2. Spy Eye. Google Can see everything you do. You will using their servers to store anything and everything from you computer.

3. Tech Expert. You need to be a tech genius to make the most of it.

4. Chance to Loose. If Google Server fails you loose all your files which one you stored. On hard disk you can backup your drive but if server down you can’t able to access file.

On September 30th Google Lanuch its new product called Google Wave publicaly, a new real-time communication platform.

Google Wave is a real-time communication platform. Actually It combines aspects of email, instant messanging, wikis, web chat, social networking and project management to build one elegant, in-browser communication client. You can bring a group of friends or bussiness partners together to discuss how your day has been or share files.

But how to use Google Wave for Blogging ? When I tested the Google Wave, Suddenly My creativity was rise, and I think can I use Google Wave to improve the quality of article or to use as a platform to increase traffic to my blog. I was shocked, when the result was appear. From Google Wave, My article quality was increased, also I helped to add some more important points. My pasted article traffic was increased by 100-150 hits in a day.

So How we use more Google wave for blogger benefits, I taken out some ideas:

1. Google Wave provide real-time communication, so when you going to prepare the article, you can take help the other blogger, without waiting for email.
2. In Web World, every big company before launching the new products they release beta version publically. If Big Company launch its beta version then why Blogger can realase their excerpts before publishing their article. So before publishing the article Bloggers also paste their excerpts before publishing the article.
3. Google Wave provide Wiki functionality, means Anthing written within a Google Wave can be edited by anyone else, because all conversations within the platform are shared. So anyone can correct information, append information or add their comment to your article.
4. Google Wave code will be open source, so Creative Blogger also make their own application.
5. If you can’t find the proper image or video for your article then you can take help from other wavers, just drag and drop files to the files.
   TIP: You can find the images based on their caption text by using the caption:”your search terms”
6. Google Wave also used as Forum. In forum, instead of having to try a discussion by posting and going back to the page and checking the new replies and while you were posting, you missed a new part of the discussion, you can post like you are having an instant-message session and you can also save the post like you are having an instant-message session and you can also save the posts like forum threads. I really think that this would be a great use of the google wave api.
7. One Key to Many. Like most email clients, Google Wave offers a traditional folder system for filling your waves. If Blogger have multiple blog than Blogger maintain multiple waves by grouping them into SubFolder.
   TIP: To create a new folder, go to Navigation Panel click the + (plus) button next to Folders and type the name of your folder. Your folder name can be as long as you like, and can contain spaces and special characters (such as punctuation).

Search using “OR” operator:
Google normall search the pharase what we type in search phase. Sometime we want to search two different things like mobile phones & computer. for that we use “OR” operator, for e.g, mobile phones OR computer will give you results which contain the word mobile phone or computers or all the terms.
NOTE: Remember hte operator is case sensitive and has to be in upper case. Alternatively, use the | symbol.

There are top three Web based email service in world, Yahoo Mail!, Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail. However which of these is best ? Does the large userbase of Yahoo Mail! & Hotmail make them better than Gmail? or the simplistic & quick loading interface of Gmail put them in the race. So How we decide which is best email service in the world. Obviously such question all not to simpler to answer, But we are trying to give all the answer by analysis & my personal experience…

It is hard to tell which email service is better but I used Gmail & Windows Live Hotmail more frequently because they give the large Mail Storage space, free POP IN & POP OUT and because of low user base than Yahoo. So it is easy to find required Email Id, however Yahoo trying to short out the problem by introducing “Ymail” and “RocketMail” and also they give the Id by in the name of Country like “co.in”, “co.uk”, “co.fr” & more.
I prefer more to use Yahoo Mail! but little problem stop the Yahoo to clean sweep the race i.e Many website are not prefer to use Yahoo ID, if you use Yahoo ID in the registration form, they show error & say to use other ID. and also it is less compatible with “Facebook”.
NOTE:Yahoo Mail performance may be varying with Country Server.

The Best Email sevice is one with least problem. It appers that problem with Hotmail & Gmail troubles have been kind of equal. On the other hand Yahoo Mail seems to give the least problem to its user.
Does this means Yahoo Mail is the best Email service? Hmmm…
Yahoo Mail is the leader of the pack in terms of popularity & usage. In my Opinion, a high subscriber & least problem does put Yahoo Mail a few inches before the others in the race for the Best Email service. However I really like my Yahoo Mail account but the use the Gmail one more frequently because of simplistic, quick loading interface & also free POP IN & POP OUT mail although Hotmail also provide this facility but the only one reason I will not use Hotmail ! What this… Hotmail does not provide Messanger.
Overall In my opinion Hotmail is best service in the world.However in these days & age of fierce competition where each one is trying to outdo the others. Best email service is one that keeps adding new feature & extending the flexibility of the Email account.
Conclusion is that Gmail won the prize of Best Email Service in the world.

Some information is easy to find. If you want to learn the rules of football, you can search Google for the rules and they will return a list of relavant web sites right at the top. But not all your information needs are that simple. Some question can be more complex, required you to visit ten to twenty website to research and collect what you need.
To come out this complexity Google introduce with Google Squared, a new feature just released in Google Labs.
Google Squared is an experimental search tool that collect facts from the facts and present them in an organized collection, similar to spreadsheet.

For instance, I’m a big fan of roller coasters. In the past I’ve used Google to search for information about roller coasters, such as which ones are the tallest, fastest, and have the most loops. Finding this information used to take multiple searches — I’d find roller coaster sizes on one website, heights on another, and speeds on a third. By manually comparing the sites, I could get the information I was looking for, but in Google Square they build a square with rows for each of several specific roller coasters and columns for corresponding facts, such as image height,max height and cost.

Its very dificult for computer to gathering fact from across the internet automatically. Google Squared is a first step towards solving that challenge. It essentially searches the web to find the types of facts you might be interested in, extracts them and presents them in a meaningful way.
