Vodafone Launched its Own App Store in India

Vodafone Essar has unveiled its very own application store in India. After the Airtel launced its own app store. The Vodafone comes with vengeance. The Service was already activated since last month. However, the company chose to officially reveal it to the world after they just crossed the figure of over 10,000 downloads.

The Vodafone mobile store offering over 800 applications under various categories like Entertainment, Utility, Finance, Social Networking etc. The application store is available to customers having GPRS Enabled handset. Customers can send a message “APP” to 111 (toll free) and also access the store through the portal Vodafone Live !. Applications are priced in the range of Rs 5 to 30.

Kumar Ramanathan, Chief Marketing Officer said:

We are delighted to launch the Vodafone Mobile Application store which combines an array of facilities for our customers including easy access to information, utilities and entertainment. The mobile applications are affordable and a significant step forward in the growth of mobile data and the future of Mobile Internet in India.
