Why I’m Using Ubuntu ?

8 Years ago, I use computer first time and at that time Windows 98 is popular and almost use in all PC. After 2 years I use Windows xp. So Almost 6 years I use only windows and that I think that Microsoft is only company who provide OS for computer. Last year I attend the training in my college. It is training conducted by Intux based on teaching Linux. In first seminar I saw the first look of Ubuntu. I remember that they show me the rotating desktop and I was completely mad and that time I realize to must use this OS. I take part in training and that was time I was step in the field of website.

For one year I use only Ubuntu, I complete remove the xp from my pc. Right now I have two OS install Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.04. Guys Windows 7 is a best creation from Microsoft and I’m sure it is world best OS after xp. But I can’t able to remove Ubuntu my laptop. Here I bring some point that Why I’m using Ubuntu ?

1. OPEN SOURCE

First one It’s an Open Source OS, so Its distributed free.

2. REDISGN AND SELL

Ubuntu allow us to reconfigure according to us and redistribute again with our brand name.

3. HARDWARE INDEPENDENT

At the time of installation, Ubuntu automatically detect our hardware and install drivers for it. So need to install all drivers separately after the installation.

4. FREE OFFICE

Ubuntu comes preinstall with OpenOffice, Its a best alternative of Microsoft Office. All Office work can be done with ease.

5. LIVE CD SUPPORT

IF you wish to just test the OS without installing on Hard Disk, then Ubuntu provide you a Live CD where it load all its file in RAM temporarily. It’s is also good when you system file are missing and you don’t want to format your computer.

6. VIRUS FREE OS

In the World 90% of viruses are made for windows, so these virus can’t affect the Ubuntu, so Ubuntu is free from Viruses.

You can update everything on your system with just one update manager. No need to install separate Update Manager for all the software you installed.

In Windows, we see that some software need restart to complete the installation but in Ubuntu we don’t want to restart the computer at time of software installation.
